This month's PitchFeast will be a good experience for people who don't take eating healthy very seriously and people who don't really have access to healthy food solutions. Why? Because this month's PitchFeast event will be starring, people who will be pitching their ideas about Healthy Food Solutions, and they are listed below
LAWRENCE COMMUNITY GARDENS: MOBILE FARM STAND - Sharrona Moore with the Lawrence Community Gardens plans on providing fresh produce to large apartment communities with little or no healthy food access. Their mobile farm stand will be built by their DIY (Developing Impactful Youth) Gardening Program.
JET SOLUTIONS: GROCERY DELIVER PLUS MORE – Eric Williams with Jet Solutions will share their business model that provides delivery services for groceries coupled with local produce. They are constantly innovating with the goal of addressing major issues revolving around food access and insecurity.
NEW GROCERY STORES – Brandon Ware is looking to open three to four food cooperatives that will lead to a more equitable distribution of healthy food options. He is using economic research to examine the spatial accessibility of grocery retailers by examining racial composition, poverty, and income.

We are also partnering with Seedling Distribution, Seedling University and Seedling Market for this event. Our partner is a total community placemaking initiative that seeks to build grocery stores, leverage grocery store as distribution center for mobile markets, and train local residents as entrepreneurs and staff. Through the Seedling initiatives, one of the presenters at the PitchFeast will be additionally selected to receive three one-on-one mentoring sessions with Sunny Lu, Scott Weaver and Trent Decatur to strengthen the social enterprise and seek sustainability.
